Chiefs coach reacts to big loss

The Kansas City Chiefs traded superstar cornerback LJarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans earlier this offseason in order to create some salary cap space. But the coaching staff seems to understand what a huge loss it was to lose him.

During a recent press conference, Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo made it clear that L’Jarius Sneed is not the type of player that can be easily replaced.

“I’ll see. I don’t think anyone is going to replace LJ Sneed,” Spagnuolo said in his press conference, according to Pro Football Talk. “I thought LJ had a remarkable year in everything he did. There are some shoes to fill, whether we do it with one person or two people or change guys, we’ll see.”

The Chiefs have a few options when it comes to replacing Sneed with the possibility of Trent McDuffie playing outside after playing in the slot most of his career thus far. But Spagnuolo understands there simply won’t be a one-for-one replacement for Sneed. He also knows he shouldn’t rush to figure it all out.

“We have a long way to go to figure that out,” Spagnuolo said.

We’ll have to see how the Chiefs handle his departure.
