The latest news about Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice following a six-car accident on March 30 in Dallas that left at least one person injured could put his 2024 season at risk.
Rice, who police said was driving a Lamborghini at high speed, faces eight felony charges — six for a collision involving bodily injury, one for a collision involving serious bodily injury, and another for aggravated assault.
Theodore Knox, 21, who was driving a Corvette leased in Rice’s name, faces the same eight charges.
Charges for leaving the scene of an accident involving injury could be added later.
According to a statement by NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy, issued through NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the league said: “We [will] continue to monitor developments in the matter.”
Rice apologized on Instagram for his role in the incident and has retained a lawyer. He and his lawyer have indicated that they are cooperating with the investigation.
