Chiefs sign Kareem Hunt to 53-man roster, waive Keaontay Ingram
According to a report from ESPN analyst Field Yates, the Kansas City Chiefs officially signed veteran running back Kareem Hunt to their 53-man roster on Tuesday, September 24.
To make room for Hunt, the Chiefs waived third-year back Keaontay Ingram, who was signed after Isiah Pacheco was placed on Kansas City’s injured reserve list last week.
These moves come after rookie running back Carson Steele’s outstanding performance in the Chiefs’ victory over the Falcons on Sunday Night Football.
Hunt is set to enter his second stint on Kansas City’s 53-man roster after initially entering the league as the Chiefs’ third-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
The Chiefs have signed RB Kareem Hunt to their 53-man roster and waived RB Keontay Ingraham.
So, Hunt now figures into the RB rotation alongside Carson Steele and Samaje Perine.

Kansas City released Hunt in 2018, and he spent five seasons with the Cleveland Browns before landing on the Chiefs’ practice squad last week.
It is unclear what role Hunt will play in Kansas City’s offense when the Chiefs face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4, but fans should expect to see the former Toledo Rocket in action at some point during the regular season.
