NFL Week 2 picks, predictions:
Jeremy Cluff writes: “This might be the game of the week and we get it in the NFL Week 2 opener. Both teams impressed in Week 1, but the Chiefs really impressed in a 44-21 dismantling of the Cardinals in Arizona. That gives the edge here, as does playing at home.”
Bookies.com: Take the Chargers with the points vs. Chiefs
Bill Speros writes: “This game carries extra weight for the visiting Bolts because it will be their second straight matchup within what is expected to be a hyper-competitive AFC West. The teams split their two games last season, with the Chiefs winning in overtime on Dec. 17. The total averaged 58 points in each matchup, well above the line this week. Given the perfunctory 3-point line in favor of the home team, this one is bascially a Pick ‘Em on paper. For that reason, we like the Chargers on the moneyline as one of our NFL week 2 picks. Arizona’s secondary was depleted and terrible at the same time. The Chargers defense held on against Derek Carr and Davante Adams. The Chiefs gave bettors in Kansas an easy win, cover and over in Week 1. It won’t be so simple this week.”

Draft Kings: Chiefs will cover vs. Chargers
It writes: “Patrick Mahomes just keeps getting better, and while the Chargers defense had a major day both in the secondary and on the line, Kansas City is the team to beat this week. Chiefs will cover in what will likely be yet another great Mahomes performance.”
ESPN: Chiefs have a 54.6% chance to win the game
The site’s Football Power Index gives the Chargers a 44.8% shot at picking up the victory.

Predictem.com: Go with the Chargers with the points vs. Chiefs
Loot Levinson writes: “Not that an early-season win for the Bolts here at Arrowhead last season is any kind of guiding light, but they’ve done OK here lately against the high-octane Chiefs. It’s hard to picture the Chiefs’ defense not being tested by a Chargers’ offense that will be looking to atone for an uneven showing last Sunday. That’s not to say that Mahomes can’t wield an ungodly amount of production on the Chargers’ defense, a unit that might be in its toughest matchup of the season. But I sense some big plays on the defensive side of the ball, giving the Chargers’ cause more teeth this week, with Herbert making better use of his signature talent en route to a cover at Arrowhead in week two.”
Pro Football Network: Take the Chiefs against the spread vs. Chargers
BJ Rudell writes: “This betting line could shift even more in the Chiefs’ favor depending on Keenan Allen’s health outlook. Kansas City looked locked in on the road against Arizona, while LA racked up only 48 yards in their final five offensive drives versus the Raiders. The Chargers need a nearly flawless performance to push past KC on the road. I’m not seeing it.”
