Patrick Mahomes explains Christmas plans
The Kansas City Chiefs prepare for Christmas Day with a win under his belt.
After the Chiefs beat the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, quarterback Patrick Mahomes gave a little insight into what his Christmas Day will look like.
“We flew the whole family in because they’re going to be home and enjoy Christmas with everyone and (head) coach (Andy) Reid gave us Sunday off, so we have Christmas Day off,” Mahomes said.
“We will be able to watch football, basketball, but it will still be a great day with the whole family. I am trying to make the gingerbread houses and will be competitive. I’ll try to win it.”
Mahomes had 224 passing yards and three total touchdowns against the Seahawks.
While the Chiefs are still waiting for the Buffalo Bills to drop a game to become the number one seed, the star quarterback is proud of how his team has played in recent games.
“I thought we improved as a team this week. The defense played really well against a really good offense.
“Offensively, we executed it very well at times, but we’ll learn from it and try to improve next week,” he said.
“You want to play your best football going into the playoffs and I think that’s where we have to continue to get better and get better is we put the whole game together — offense, defense, special teams and I thought we did pretty well. the job of today, but we can be even better in these last two weeks.”
The Chiefs finish their season with two games against AFC West foes in matchups with the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders.
