Patrick Mahomes – Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is looking to bounce back in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars after a Week 1 underperformance by his lofty standards. The 27-year-old performed better than his interception line, two touchdowns and one 226-yard interception would suggest after being plagued by at least six receiver drops without top target Travis Kelce (knee). Kelce will return for Sunday’s contest, cementing Mahomes as one of the top QB1 plays of the weekend. Jacksonville’s defense gave up the sixth-most passing yards (4,258) last year, allowing only rookie Anthony Richardson to finish as the QB4 overall in Week 1 in his NFL debut. Mahomes also tagged the Jags for a 74% (48-of-65) completion rate, 526 yards, and a 6:1 TD:INT in two meetings in 2022, including the AFC Divisional Round. Several other fantastic QB1s reside in potentially high-scoring environments, so Mahomes’ DFS listing could be lower than expected even though this game features the highest projected point total on the board.
