Patriots Fans Harass Patrick Mahomes’ Girlfriend
It was a rematch of the AFC title game this past Sunday when the Kansas City Chiefs traveled to Foxborough and beat the New England Patriots 23-16 at Gillette Stadium. It may have been a frustrating game for Patriots fans who booed the home team off the field at halftime and witnessed some dicey calls by the refs, but that doesn’t excuse the behavior that Patrick Mahomes’ girlfriend, Brittney Mathews, and his brother, Jackson, dealt with during the game. The two were seated together when a Patriots fan recognized them and immediately began harassing them. Matthews live-tweeted the experience on her Twitter account.
Later in the game, Patriots fans got upset with Mathews for standing during the game, even threating to call security on her.
The harassment continued and before the game ended, Gillette security was forced to move Brittney and Jackson to a “safe place.” Matthews said the security team told them they have cameras everywhere and had seen them getting harassed so they were going to move them to a safe section.
Patriots fans were so distraught about the loss, they began fighting each other. It was the first time in years that the Patriots lost a home game. With the win, the Chiefs snapped the Patriots 21-game home winning streak and tensions began to rise at Gillette Stadium.
