What started out as a city-wide celebration quickly turned nightmarish as shots erupted during the Chiefs Super Bow parade in downtown Kansas City. One woman was left dead while as many as 20 others were hurt. Chiefs guard Trey Smith joined Good Morning America on Thursday to tell his story which involved comforting a frightened child.

“I’m pretty angry. Due to senseless violence, someone lost their life today … At the end of the day, Kansas City is a great city. We’re gonna stand up together and we’re gonna be strong.”
