Week 11: Chiefs vs. Chargers — A Monday Night Showtime Showdown
Last week’s loss to the Titans was painful. The Chiefs offense played well, but the defense and special teams did not. Costly mistakes and beast mode Derrick Henry got the better of us. Final score: Chiefs 32 Titans 35.
Onto week 11!
The 6-4 Kansas City Chiefs and 4-6 Los Angeles Chargers travel to Mexico City to battle it out on Monday Night Football. A loss for the Chargers could mean their season and a loss for the Chiefs could mean falling to second place in the AFC West. A lot is on the line for this crucial divisional bout. The Chargers are going to try and run the ball against the Chiefs since that is the weakest part of our game. This could pose a problem as Melvin Gordon has been playing exceptionally well and Austin Ekeler is just as dangerous. The Chiefs D is going to have to get it together and play like they did when Mahomes was out. It’s almost as if they slack off when Mahomes is there because they figure the offense will bail us out. No more slacking off, boys!
The Chargers have been struggling against defending the run this year as well, so look for the Chiefs to make a point at getting their run game going. It’s hard to say if it’s going to be Williams, Williams, or McCoy who benefits, but I do anticipate running the ball being a bigger part of the game plan tomorrow night. This is key for clock management and keeping our defense fresh. Establishing the run will also create more opportunities for Show-Me-The-Money Mahomes to do his thing!
Let’s talk Chiefs stack!
My 3 DraftKings Showdown must plays:
Patrick Mahomes (18000 CPTN) – I am going with Mahomes in the CPTN spot tomorrow night. Although I do anticipate the Chiefs running more, it is difficult to predict who is going to have the bigger game and let’s not get it twisted – this is Mahomes’ offense and it’s about to be Mahomes mania on Monday Night!
Tyreek Hill (10600 FLEX) – I know it’s hard to fit in the Cheetah at 10600, but he is just too good. Play him with confidence.
LeSean McCoy (5200 FLEX) – this is a risky play, but you have to find value somewhere. He should be relatively low owned and I do believe the Chiefs will be running tomorrow night and running well.
Go Chiefs!!
