Week 7: Showtime Showdown – Chiefs vs. Broncos

Vegas Predicts: KC -3, O/U 49
Implied Team Totals: KC – 26.25 | DEN – 22.75
We suffered another heartbreaker last week, what looked to be a bounce back game for the Chiefs in the 1st quarter took a turn at the end of the second half with a costly Mahomes fumble. The Chiefs managed to retake the lead with a Mahomes toss to Tyreek Hill (his second TD of the day) in the 3rd quarter, but couldn’t quite get it done in the 4th – losing to the Texans 24 – 31.
On a short week, the Chiefs travel to Mile High stadium for a divisional matchup with the longtime rival Denver Broncos. As we’ve seen week in and week out, teams when facing the Chiefs are playing like it’s the Super Bowl! With all the injuries on the KC side, Kendall Fuller (CB) now joining the already lengthy list, this game could be closer than expected. With the Chiefs struggling to stop the run and Mahomes still fighting through an ankle injury, I see tonight being a run-first and utilizing screen passes to running backs strategy for both sides. So, for your Showdown slate don’t be afraid to load up on RBs.
That being said, it is still an Andy Reid offense led by the reigning NFL MVP Patrick “Showtime” Mahomes… so there is always an opportunity for fireworks!
