Chiefs place WR Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown on IR
According to a report by NFL insider Jordan Schultz on Friday, the Kansas City Chiefs are placing veteran wide receiver Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown on injured reserve after the team discovered his injury was not healing properly.
After the Chiefs signed Brown in the 2024 offseason to add speed and experience to their young receiving corps, the former Arizona Cardinal was expected to have an immediate impact.
However, the speedster was injured in Week 1 of the preseason and has been sidelined ever since. The length of time Brown is expected to miss is unknown, but his placement on the injured reserve list will keep him out for at least the next four weeks.

Chiefs’ fans took to Twitter after news broke about his status, and offered their thoughts and prayers to the veteran wideout.
Take a look at what they had to say:
Well this is incredibly unfortunate. Was not expecting this at all. Prayers up for a speedy recovery, Hollywood. This hurts even more bc we all know how excited he is to play with Patrick Mahomes. Hopefully he’ll be back mid season… 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 https://t.co/woNxRqi2vY

This is what I was afraid of… 💔 sounds like at best we get him back for December & a playoff run. Was so looking forward to him in this offense. This one hurts… 🙏🏼😢 time for Xavier to excel, and Juju + Mecole to step up. https://t.co/KU0463MFVn

An unfortunate scenario here, but they had to see if it healed on its own before choosing this route. Hoping for a speedy recovery for No. 5. https://t.co/Odi9aY3AcI

Talked to my old man, who is a doctor and has been involved in sports medicine. His guess is Hollywood won’t be back anytime soon. Could be back late this year or by the playoffs if everything goes smoothly. Could also miss the whole season. https://t.co/IcBEwB57ME
